Choosing a fully compliant payroll provider has never been so important for owners and directors of temporary staffing agencies, employers or indeed contractors. The umbrella industry continues to be the subject of forensic scrutiny by Government departments including HMRC, The Treasury and the Department Business Trade all of whom are committed to eliminating and exposing any acts of non-compliance, tax avoidance or bogus payroll schemes.
It is widely predicted that the Government will soon be introducing some form of regulation to help clients, employers, contractors, and the wider public identify compliant payroll companies and to provide a ‘level playing field’ for the industry as a whole. Recent examples of rogue practices have attracted national media attention and served to dilute trust in the sector to the detriment of even the most transparent and ethical businesses.
DASA Umbrella is one of only a small handful of payroll businesses to be audited by both the FCSA (Freelancer & Contractor Services Association) and Professional Passport (PP). To be accredited by each of these trade bodies, the DASA team willingly contribute to a time-consuming and expensive analysis of all their processes and procedures by a accessors from both JMW Solicitors LLP and Saffery Champness LLP. A full audit is conducted on a bi-annual basis with a ‘light touch’ review in the year between which ensures that maintaining the company’s compliance credentials is virtually a continuous exercise.

DASA’s Self-Employed/ CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) payroll provision has also passed the equally forensic annual audits necessary to achieve accredited status with the FCSA. Offered in unison with all facets of the Government-backed scheme, our CIS model ensures that contractors working in construction, engineering, rail, and associated sectors deliver their services in a fully compliant manner and get paid accordingly.
